Amira Elmalatawy
ِAmira Elmalatawy is an expert in healthcare and community development with advanced diplomas in Education Technology from Dundee College, Scotland, and maternal and child health from Japan, along with an MA in Public Health from Tulane University, USA, specializing in management and epidemiology. She was Educational Planner for WHO-sponsored nursing and medical schools then joined UNICEF Egypt for 28 years, eventually rising to Chief of Health and Nutrition Section. Her work addressed reproductive and child health priorities, including FGM, neonatal care, and national initiatives for vaccination and breastfeeding. At WHO Egypt, she managed the national Polio Eradication program and refugee health initiatives, and designed management training for nurses. She assisted Badr University of Cairo in implementing a nine-month program enhancing nurses’ technical skills. Her achievements include developing a BFHI training manual, evaluating health programs in seven Egyptian governorates, and training community members in antenatal care and adolescent health. She led missions across 15 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and MENA, and consistently committed to advancing healthcare standards and strengthening community health practices across Egypt.
