Sally El-Sawah
Dr. Sally El Sawah is the President of WACA and an internationally recognized lawyer and arbitrator. She holds a PhD in International Law and Human Rights from Sorbonne University. With qualifications in Egypt, France, and England, she brings nearly two decades of experience across Europe, MENA and Africa, working on high-profile projects and arbitrations in foreign investment, infrastructure, and corporate matters. Her extensive work with governments, multinationals, and SMEs reflects a profound understanding of global legal, social, and cultural landscapes. She serves a Board Member of an NGO promoting and empowering women in the field of arbitration and an NGO promoting and empowering Africans in the field of arbitration, as well asco-founder and leader of multiple initiatives. Beyond her distinguished legal career, Dr. El Sawah is deeply committed to driving positive societal change, particularly through advancing the rights and opportunities of women and children. Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, she expertly navigates diverse legal systems, business environments, and cultural contexts, enabling her to address systemic challenges impacting underrepresented communities.
